Inspire a young storyteller
Every story starts with a dream, and yours is worth telling. Lights, Camera, Action: Jo Directs Her First Film is a fun and inspiring workbook that shows you how to bring your ideas to life on screen. You will learn how movies are made, what film terms mean, and even write your own story using a mad lib style script creator.
From your first idea to the final “That’s a wrap!”, you will learn how to dream big, stay curious, and create like a pro.
Behind the Story
In college, I had to research a director, and when I went looking for a female one, there was not a single book available at the time. I wanted to change that.
I wrote Jo Directs Her First Film to show girls, and every kid who loves stories, that you can do anything you set your mind to. You can lead. You can direct. You can dream big and make it real. Because the next great filmmaker might just be you.
